Cows go “moo”, ducks go “quack”, cupcakes go “yummy yummy yummy”. I have yet to meet a kid who doesn’t love cake or animals, so what a perfect theme for a kid’s birthday.
The first idea we are featuring is one that should be quite easy to try at home – even if you are not too steady of hand – you can be as messy as you like and they’ll still look ace. These are by the Possible Baker
Here’s a great idea for making one big farm animal, in this case a cow, out of many cupcakes. This one is featured on Cake Central
Pigs were always my favourite animal as a child, and these cupcakes from Domesticali are perfectly simple but it’s very obvious what they are meant to be – and the fact I love marshmallows is only a bonus
There are many many ways to do cupcakes featuring sheep, I chose this picture by Sugarboxtreats as it shows a nice little collection of how to do sheep, and each one is adorable. If you were to do all sheep cupcakes, a nice little twist would be to include a black sheep in the collection.
Horses can be confused for cows or even pigs if you don’t do them right. The key thing to remember is the mane, that’s what tells people it’s a horse they’re looking at, I love the way that mane has been created here with a basic flower cutter. These are by The Red Webs who made them for her daughter’s cowboy birthday.
We’ve featured Easter chicks on this blog before, but here is a great little idea for full grown chickens by Manchester Tarts
Highly detailed sugarcraft little numbers by Bella Cupcakes. I love the little blue horseshoes and the heart shaped patch on the cows
And no farm is complete without a farmer and his tractor. Take a look at this little tractor cupcake by Cupcake Woman – the soil effect is chocolate buttercream with crumbled Oreos on top.
